Fujian Qingliu Shoho Eel Industry, a subsidiary of C-J Global Group, is aiming to expand the market for its eel products beyond Japan.

The company farms eel in Qingshui County, in the Fujian Province of China, and has a headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. It sources its baby eels from Japan and from the U.S. state of Maine, raising them to market size at its farm.

A fire at Raw Seafoods Inc.’s facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, U.S.A. on Wednesday, 27 September, forced the company to evacuate all of its employees, but damage was kept to a minimum.

According to WPRI, the fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, but employees managed to keep the small fire contained with fire extinguishers prior to evacuating. Firefighters then quickly knocked down the flames, with no injuries reported.
