Fire at Raw Seafoods facility contained quickly
A fire at Raw Seafoods Inc.’s facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, U.S.A. on Wednesday, 27 September, forced the company to evacuate all of its employees, but damage was kept to a minimum.
According to WPRI, the fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, but employees managed to keep the small fire contained with fire extinguishers prior to evacuating. Firefighters then quickly knocked down the flames, with no injuries reported.
Raw Seafoods Vice President and Co-Owner Scott Hutchens told SeafoodSource it was a small fire in an exhaust fan that was quickly contained.
“No employees hurt, no product issues, and production resumed shortly after the fire department cleared us,” Hutchens said.
