Seafood Expo Asia hosting second edition of Reconnect
Seafood Expo Asia, produced by organizer Diversified Communications, is hosting a second edition of Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect for five days of online business matchmaking.
The event, taking place from 15 to 19 November, is “designed to facilitate the meeting, trading and sourcing needs of the seafood industry in the Asian market,” Diversified Communications said. The event first took place in November 2020 after the show organizer was forced to put a pause on hosting an event in Asia due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [Editor's note: Diversified Communications also owns and operates SeafoodSource].
“In the current challenging situation caused by the pandemic, it is even more important for buyers and suppliers to maintain business continuity,” Diversified Communications Group Vice President Liz Plizga said in a release.
Buyers, she said, are looking for ways to build relationships with international seafood suppliers and find new products.
“Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect is the platform that will enable these relationships by connecting them together based on their business needs and product offerings,” Plizga said.
The online business matchmaking, according to the company, will allow seafood suppliers – bringing products including fresh, frozen, canned, value-added, packaged and processed seafood from around the world – to connect with buyers such as “importers, supermarkets/hypermarkets, restaurants, foodservice and catering companies, e-commerce, and distributors” looking for products to meet consumer demand.
Prior to the event, participants in the program will be allowed to access the platform and search the database to match with the right suppliers or buyers and schedule targeted meetings, Diversified Communications said.
“Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect is their opportunity to start the conversation and grow business in the Asian market,” Plizga said.
