Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. has grown accustomed to big crowds on 17 March, when droves of people – usually clad in green – come out to celebrate Ireland’s foremost patron saint for St. Patrick’s Day.

This year, Irish revelers will share the city with an equally vibrant crowd – the thousands of seafood industry professionals attending the 2019 edition of Seafood Expo North America, taking place from 17 to 19 March.

The three-day expo, produced by Diversified Communications and hosted at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, features an exhibition hall with thousands of seafood product and processing companies from around the world, as well as numerous social events, networking opportunities, and special presentations including the Seafood Excellence Awards and the highly-anticipated 13th Annual Oyster Shucking Competition.

The event also boasts an extensive conference program replete with a keynote address from accomplished global economist Lindsey Piegza of Stifel Fixed Income and sessions on pressing industry topics such as seafood traceability and sourcing, the global seafood economy, sustainability, regulatory compliance, industry culture, and more. Sessions dedicated to investigating current consumption trends and habits are also on the docket for SENA19’s conference program, for attendees who are particularly interested in drawing more consumers to seafood.

Here is a list of consumption-focused conference sessions and topics, compiled by SeafoodSource, not to miss at this year’s expo.
