Lindsey Piegza, an economist globally renowned for her research and analysis of breaking economic trends, will deliver the keynote address at the 2019 Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America (SENA) event taking place in Boston, Massachusetts this upcoming March.

Currently serving as the chief economist for U.S.-based company Stifel Fixed Income, Piegza’s perspective surrounding world economies, financial markets, and fiscal policies has been cited and sought after by numerous business news outlets, including CNBC, Fox News, CNN, and Bloomberg. Her academic work has been published in the Harvard Business Review and is featured in textbooks from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

In her keynote address at SENA19, Piegza will discuss the pace of the U.S. economic recovery and what it means for future growth, interest rates, and monetary policy, according to exhibition organizer Diversified Communications. Macro-economic consumer behavior trends and the potential economic effects of new Federal Reserve policy initiatives will also be touched upon in Piegza's address.

“Seafood professionals from around the world attend Seafood Expo North America each year looking to source new products, discover new trends, and inform their business forecasts,” said Wynter Courmont, event director for Diversified Communications. “Dr. Piegza’s talk will round out that experience by providing insightful information on the U.S. economy and what it means for the industry.”

The global seafood economy will be an overarching theme at this year’s SENA event, with the exhibition’s three-day conference program replete with sessions on the topic, ranging from those focused on seafood traceability and sourcing (Delivering on Seafood Traceability Under the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program), to sustainability (Seafood Business for Ocean Sustainability and Building Equity into Sustainable Seafood Sourcing), regulatory compliance (FDA and Customs Compliance and Enforcement: Successfully Operating in an Evolving Regulatory Environment), and industry culture (What is Gender Equality and Does it Matter in Seafood?).

Scheduled SENA19 speakers hail from a wide range of organizations, including Nutreco, Fishpeople Seafood, Loblaw Companies Ltd., Sustainable Restaurant Group, Thai Union, Sysco Corporation, Trident Seafoods Corporation, SeafoodSource, NOAA Fisheries, National Fisheries Institute, Nestle, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Kroger, The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI), Ahold Delhaize, Global Aquaculture Alliance, and more.

Alongside the educational conference, Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America features an exhibition hall with thousands of seafood product and processing companies from around the world. Numerous social events, networking opportunities, and special presentations including the Seafood Excellence Awards and the highly-anticipated 13th Annual Oyster Shucking Competition, will also transpire at the event, which is schedule to run from 17 to 19 March, 2019.
