Wild Alaskan Company opens new fulfillment center
Online seafood retailer Wild Alaskan Company has announced it is opening a new fulfillment center in the U.S. state of Utah, in partnership with RLS Logistics.
In a news release, Wild Alaskan called RLS “an innovative cold storage and logistics solutions provider.” The new facility will be the seventh fulfillment center for Wild Alaskan, which was founded in 2017 by current CEO Arron Kallenberg.
“We started Wild Alaskan with a deep-seated desire to improve the food system by nurturing a community that values sustainably-sourced meal options. This new partnership with RLS Logistics is a natural extension of that goal and will give consumers across the American West faster, more direct access to wild-caught Alaskan seafood. Working with the RLS team, Wild Alaskan will continue to connect consumers with real food and accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems,” Kallenberg said.
Wild Alaskan Company Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations Aaron Babinski said the facility in Utah will help aid the ongoing expansion of the fast-growing company, while advancing the its stated goal of environmental sustainability.
“I’m really excited to work with RLS and their world-class team," Babinski said. "This new facility will help improve efficiency and capacity across Wild Alaskan’s entire supply chain. Not only will this partnership help reduce shipping costs and overall dry ice usage – a major step in our continued commitment to environmental sustainability – but it also significantly strengthens the company’s nationwide growth.”
Founded in 1968, Newfield, New Jersey-based RLS provides cold chain solutions for transportation and warehousing for direct-to-consumer fulfillment. RLS Business Development Coordinator of Fulfillment and Cold Storage Janine Dunlap called the collaboration with Wild Alaskan said the company looked forward to continued collaboration with Wild Alaskan.
