U.K. supermarket chains Waitrose and Sainsbury’s have recalled certain cooked prawn products.

On 20 June, 2022, Waitrose recalled its Waitrose Frozen Cooked and Peeled Jumbo King Prawns and Essential Frozen Cooked King Prawns because they may contain raw, uncooked prawns, the U.K. Food Standards Agency said in a press release.

Sainsbury’s followed suit on 24 June, recalling its Sainsbury’s Cooked and Peeled Frozen Large King Prawns because of the possible presence of undercooked prawns.

“The possible presence of undercooked prawns may make this product unsafe to eat,” the U.K. FSA said in a press release.

Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are posting point-of-sale notices in its stores, explaining to customers why the products are being recalled and telling them what to do if they have purchased the product.

“If you have bought any of the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund,” FSA said.
