The label for fried swai cutlets subject to a USDA health alert

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert on 12 January for fully cooked, frozen swai (pangasius) fried fish culet products.

The products were produced by Vernon, California, U.S.A-based A&S Product Inc., conducting business as Greenland Food Company, the USDA stated in a press release.

The products under alert were produced from July to September 2022 with a shelf life of two years. They are not packaged with a USDA mark of inspection or an establishment number, and were sold at California-based retail locations.

There have not been any reported adverse reactions to consumption of the product, and the USDA said any reactions should be reported to a healthcare provider.
