Trident expands food truck operations in Seattle
Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trident Seafoods is bringing seafood to customers with the use of a no-contact, drive-thru fish truck to sell its seafood products at two locations in Washington state.
The company was so inspired by the innovative curbside pickup methods introduced by restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic that it decided to design a method to offer contactless drive-thru shopping for seafood products, the company said.
The orders are placed online and prepaid, and customers are then able to drive through and pick up the order. The truck, formerly operated as the company’s Pop-Up Fish Shop, is the companion truck to the Fork and Fin food truck, which is currently shut down as a result of coronavirus restrictions.
Among the products available for order are wild Alaskan salmon, cod, halibut, and pollock, as well as king crab. Seafood in large and small quantities is available for purchase, from 10-ounce portion of pollock filets for USD 1.99 (EUR 1.77) to a case of 24 3.35 ounce sockeye salmon cans for USD 34.99 (EUR 31.09), to a 10-pound case of king crab legs on sale for USD 274.99 (EUR 244.38). The company’s website is also providing a selection of recipes to provide ideas to consumers.
The truck is currently making appearances in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, as well as Bellingham, Washington. At the moment, the truck is making stops in Ballard on Tuesday and in Bellingham on Thursday, though the location as well as the products available are subject to change. The company plans to have the truck make appearances throughout the summer and beyond.
