Session lead: Ray Hilborn, University of Washington

While there has been considerable media coverage of fish disappearing and fisheries collapsing, the real story is that where fisheries are managed intensively, stocks are - on average - increasing and at target levels. This session reviews the data on the abundance of fish stocks and how fisheries management contributes to their sustainability.

This presentation was a part of the Seafood2030 Virtual Sustainability Forum | Aligning Industry and Government Sustainability Efforts, which took place from 9-10 September 2020.  For more information on Seafood2030 and/or to access additional program content, visit SeafoodSource.com/Seafood2030.
