Oregon-based supplier recalls salmon lox over listeria potential
Eugene, Oregon, U.S.A.-based Oregon Lox Company is recalling certain lots of Aqua Nova, North Coast, and Tony’s Wild Cold Smoked Keta Salmon Lox due to the potential it is contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recall was the result of a routine sampling by the Washington Department of Agriculture, Eugene, Oregon, U.S.A.-based Oregon Lox said in a press release. It said no illnesses have been reported from the potential contamination.
The recalled products, Lot 22821, were shipped frozen and were distributed in Alaska, California, Oregon, and Washington via distributors.
The recalled Wild Cold Smoked Keta Salmon, packaged in plastic vacuum sealed packs, includes various brands, sizes, and weights. Recalled products in the lot include: Aqua Nova Sliced Nova Lox one-pound pack; North Coast Smoked Salmon Trim, three-pound pack; and Tony’s Smoked Salmon Lox, eight-ounce pack.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to dispose of them or return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund, Oregon Lox said.
