Stolt Sea Farm becomes first operation in Spain to achieve BAP certification
Stolt Sea Farm, a land-based aquaculture operation with seven aquaculture facilities in Spain, has achieved Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, a first for the Iberian Peninsula.
The company announced the certification in time for Seafood Expo Global, taking place from 7 to 9 May in Brussel, Belgium. Stolt Sea Farm has a “firm commitment towards sustainability,” according to a release by the company, and has previously achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IFS, and Global GAP certifications.
In addition to the announcement of achieving certification, the company also debuted new products that were the result of a collaboration with Freskibo. The new products, which come in vacuum skin packaging and “MAP” (packaging in protective atmosphere), will be part of a range of Freskibo “Pesca.”
Stolt Sea Farm is showcasing their products, Select Turbot fillets and Select Portions of turbot, via tastings performed by Chef Jesus Linder at their stand in hall 6, booth #1363 throughout Seafood Expo Global.
