SENA18 mobile app gets an upgrade – here’s how to use it now
The clocks jumped forward during the early hours of Sunday, 11 March, 2018.
Industry professionals attending Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Massachusetts this week, who had already downloaded the event’s official mobile application, likely weren’t surprised by the time springing forward this weekend. The app – sponsored by information system developer iNECTA and designed by SENA organizer Diversified Communications with the help of app producer Eventbase Technology – provided several reminders to its users on Saturday, 10 March, to adjust their clocks accordingly.
Helpful notifications such as this count as just one of the many perks available within the updated “Seafood Expo” mobile app, optimized for both iOS and Android smartphone users attending SENA18 from 11 to 13 March. Free for all attendees of the event, the app can help address the following expo tasks:
- Search exhibitor lists, which include correlating booth numbers and locations
- Search SENA ‘Featured Products’ and ‘Featured Exhibitors’
- Bookmark and peruse the expo’s special events including the Seafood Excellence Awards and the 12th Annual Oyster Shucking Competition
- Access a map of the show floor as well as the city of Boston
- Connect to social media and share booth visits with online friends and business associates
- Consult basic SENA info, including show hours, news, FAQs, security updates and more
Mobile device users can access and download the app on either iTunes or Google Play by searching “Seafood Expo” or “Seafood Expo North America.” Those who have the app downloaded from past editions of SENA, should delete and re-download the app if they run into issues updating.
New this year, the app’s comprehensive dashboard allows for easy navigation between several facets of your show experience, including: Featured Products, Conference, Social Media, Activity Feed, Notes, My Schedule, Special Events, Speakers, My Favorites, Expo Information, Quick List, Exhibitors, Featured Exhibitors, and more.
Attendees searching for a specific company can use the ‘Exhibitors’ and the ‘Featured Exhibitors’ tabs when the app is launched. Tapping on the exhibitor’s entry and then their booth number will provide you with directions and relevant contact information as well as a business description. Exhibitors can also be found using the app's overarching 'Search' feature.
Add all the companies you intend to visit to your ‘Favorites’ tabs to access the information quickly while on the go. If you’re a little lost, go to the ‘Maps’ tab to see an overview of the expo area and to tab through interactive maps of the sprawling exhibit hall. The ‘Expo Info’ tab has information regarding important locations, public transportation, hotel and travel, security updates, expo hours and more.
