SeaSpire marketing bioprinted plant-based whole cut snapper analog
New Zealand- and India-based SeaSpire, a seafood start-up, is claiming its new bioprinted whitefish analog products will be the first of their kind in the Asian Pacific market.
The snapper is the SeaSpire’s first product and is created utilizing seven clean-label plant-based products, combined via a proprietary bioprinting platform, according to Vegconomist. The company plans to expand its offerings of seafood analog products beginning with other whole-muscle whitefish fillets.
SeaSpire said it plans to launch a set of plant-based seafood items reaching the Asia-Pacific markets globally in early 2023, including Singapore and Australia.
“We see greenfield opportunities when it comes to alt-seafoods in the largest seafood consuming regions like India and Southeast Asia," SeaSpire Co-Founder Shantanu Dhangar said. "We aim to drive category growth in this region with a range of healthy and delectable alt-seafood starting with our whole-muscle whitefish fillets.”
