Banner Smoked Fish in Brooklyn, New York, is voluntarily recalling all of its smoked fish products within expiry in all packages, due the potential they may contain traces of listeria monocytogenes.

The potential contamination was discovered through routine FDA inspection and no illnesses have been reported.

“The products were found to be processed under unsanitary condition,” and have the potential to be contaminated with listeria, Banner said in a press release on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website.

The recalled smoked fish products include numerous Banner Smoked Fish-branded products, along with those under other labels such as Bingo Nova Lox, Westside Market Smoked Nova Salmon, and Benz’s Gourmet Smoked Pre-Sliced Nova Salmon. The products were distributed through retailers and distributors’ physical locations and online stores in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, California, Nebraska, Arizona, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, Oregon, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

In Canada, Ottawa, Ontario-based Searay Foods is recalling Searay brand Thailand Black Tiger Shrimp size 31-40 because they contain sulfites that are not declared on the label.

“People with a sensitivity to sulfites should not consume the recalled products,” the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a press release. However, there have been no reported reactions to the products.

The shrimp was distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.
