The city of Federal Way, Washington, located south of Seattle, recently received an application from Orca Bay Seafoods and Preferred Freezer to build a new processing warehouse where a facility for forest products company Weyerhaeuser once stood.

According to the application, the proposed facility will include a 68-foot-tall, 314,424-square-foot warehouse with office space and food processing areas, as well as parking space for 310 cars and 35 trucks, reported the Federal Way Mirror.

“Associated site work” such as wetland filling will also be conducted at the 19-acre site, which will have two addresses if approved: 33700 32nd Ave. S. and 3120 S. 344th St. in Federal Way.

As many as 275 jobs will be created for the Federal Way area if the warehouse is approved, the newspaper said.

The official applicant for the warehouse, Chill Build Seattle, has requested a number of permits including a Use Process III permit. Residents have until 22 August to comment on the application to the city of Federal Way's director of community development.

The headquarters for Orca Bay Seafoods is in Renton, Washington, close to the proposed warehouse’s potential location.
