Nordstrom Restaurants and Trident Seafoods are partnering on an Alaska pollock promotion.

Thanks to funding from the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), Nordstrom Restaurants and Trident Seafoods are partnering on an Alaska pollock promotion.

During Earth Month in April, Nordstrom Restaurants are featuring a Blackened Wild Alaska Pollock with Cajun Risotto dish, while its Specialty Coffee Bars will feature a grab-n-go Blackened Wild Alaska Pollock Taco Salad.

"We are proud to be partnering with Nordstrom, a brand that has sustainability at its core and innovation in its spirit,” Seattle, Washington-based Trident CEO Joe Bundrant said in a GAPP press release. “One of our goals at Trident is to spread the word about wild Alaska pollock and its incredible benefits. These two delicious dishes showcase the beauty of this fish and how easy it is to create flavorful menu items using wild Alaska pollock as the inspiration.”

Nordstrom chefs competed for which dish would be part of the April menu after a day-long creative session with GAPP and Trident executives.

“Wild Alaska pollock checks all the boxes when it comes to what we are looking to offer our customers. It’s high-quality, flavorful, nutrient-dense, lean, and most importantly, sustainable,” Nordstrom Restaurants Director of Culinary Kati Lauffer said.

Nordstrom stores will also be featuring two new Trident products: Pure Catch Wild Omega-3 Supplements and Wild Alaska Pollock Oil Food Topper for Dogs. The products are made in the U.S.A. and demonstrate the “full usage” of the fish, Trident said in a press release.

Trident’s Alaska Naturals Fish Oil Food Topper for Dogs Alaska pollock oil supports skin and coat health, according to Trident. And the Pure Catch Wild Omega-3 Supplement are designed to support a healthy heart, brain, and vision, Trident said.

"These supplements are concentrated to deliver triple the amount of essential omega-3s found in wild Alaska pollock,” the company said.

The new lines are also available on Amazon.

Trident and Nordstrom’s partnership was part of a project selected during the latest round of funding in the GAPP Partnership Program. GAPP has awarded over USD 1.6 million (EUR 1.5 million) in funding in its most recent round to 14 partners with the goal of increasing awareness of Alaska pollock and of driving demand for it. In total, GAPP has awarded more than USD 6.5 million (EUR 6 million) in GAPP Partnership Program funds over the past three years.
