Netuno partners with Prime Seafood, Chile brings 14 companies to Seafood Expo North America
As the official media for Seafood Expo North America, taking place 12 to 14 March, 2023, in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. SeafoodSource has compiled a roundup of new products making their debuts at this year's expo.
- Pro Chile has returned to Seafood Expo North America, exhibiting at booth #715, to debut a variety of products. It is showcasing Chilean salmon, mussels, trout, fishmeal, sea bass, and fish oil from 14 different companies.
“The United States is the leading destination for Chile’s seafood exports. Our products stand out due to their quality and solid traceability processes. There’s a high interest among Chilean businesses to be part of the Seafood Expo North America, and that’s why we have included two new companies in our pavilion to showcase their export offer,” Pro Chile Trade Commissioner Andrea Sapag said. “Our country is also recognized for its sustainable development efforts, which include tracking systems from farming to destination and constant research to create new products. All of this is done under the highest safety standards."
- Brattleboro, North Carolina, U.S.A-based Ossid brought its Reepack ReeEco Tray Sealing machine, specifically designed for seafood products, to display at Seafood Expo North America/Seafood Processing North America at Booth #1387. The product packaging company created the ReeEco Tray Sealing machine, and it is “designed for the seafood packaging industry, it can handle 10K film and features a standard infeed with three loading positions, easy changeover, automatic output belt conveyor, and a user-friendly control panel,” Ossid said in a press release.
-Cedar Bay Grilling Company debuted new flavors of its Grill It Easy Shrimp in Mild Cajun and Garlic Butter & Herb flavors at Seafood Expo North America. The Blandford, Nova Scotia, Canada-based company is showcasing the product at booth #3257. The Grill It Easy Shrimp can be cooked in an oven, but a reusable non-stick, no-mess grilling mat is included in purchase.
“We’re very excited to showcase our new “Grill It Easy Shrimp” at Seafood Expo North America,” Cedar Bay Grilling Company President and CEO Douglas Park said in a press release. “We believe this new product meets consumer demands for an easy to prepare seafood grilling experience that will appeal to all consumer segments.”
-On 10 March, 2023, Netuno announced a deal with Sao Paulo, Brazil-based Prime Seafood. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S.A.-based frozen seafood company has become the official importer and distributor for Prime Seafood’s snapper. It is exhibiting in Booth #613.
“We’re excited that this is how we’re kicking off our 30th anniversary, strengthening our market position with the item that gave us our start in 1993,” Netuno said in a press release.
-Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada-based Ocean Choice seafood company announced an upcoming retail and foodservice packing facility to be built in Nova Scotia.
The facility will have 43,000 square feet of cold storage, and 30,000 square feet of production space. Facility production is to begin summer 2023 with more than USD 14 million (EUR 13 million) investment, the company said in a press release.
“Investing in a cold storage, distribution, and retail packing facility in Nova Scotia makes strategic sense given a large percentage of our seafood currently flows through the Halifax region prior to being shipped to markets around the world,” Ocean Choice CEO Martin Sullivan said. “We are investing in state-of-the-art equipment and automation that will provide flexible and innovative packaging solutions to meet the needs of a diverse range of customers, including retail, foodservice and meal-kit delivery options.”
The facility is to offer a variety of new packing options, such as vacuum skinpack, flexible vacuum pack, overwrap trays, and several vertical bagging options in a variety of sizes. Ocean Choice is also investing in automated end-of-line packing equipment to provide flexible master case options and shelf and club-ready solutions.
- Portland, Maine, U.S.A.-based Diversified Communications, the organizer of Seafood Expo North America, announced its final tally for the 2023 expo's exhibit space. Spanning 237,665 square feet, the total is 31 percent larger than last year’s show. All told, this year's expo has welcomed 1,141 companies exhibiting from 49 countries.
