Linde rolls out advanced freezing, aquaculture tech for SENA16
Advanced aquaculture technologies and cutting-edge proprietary cryogenic solutions will be on full display for those who visit the Linde LLC booth at this year’s Seafood Expo North America / Seafood Processing North America (SENA) event, held from 6 to 8 March in Boston.
Designed for individually quick freezing (IQF) species such as shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and other small seafood items, Linde’s proprietary cryogenic platforms – including the CRYOLINE® CW (CRYOWAVE®) IQF freezer –utilize a patented rolling-wave action technique on the conveyor belt to better separate product to make the freezing process more efficient.
“This patented IQF technology is a major improvement over flighted freezers, and can mean a quantum upgrade in product quality and a reduction in operating costs,” said Erik Fihlman, Program Manager Seafood Industry for Linde LLC.
Such technologies were constructed to help seafood processors meet production requirements, improve product quality, reach new markets and satisfy burgeoning demand for prepared food products, said the company. The CRYOWAVE freezer in particular can be equipped with either carbon dioxide (CO2) or liquid nitrogen (N2), whichever aligns with a given processors needs.
Other technologies offered by Linde and to be on display at Booth No. 2074 at SENA16 are:
- Automated CO2 snow chilling solutions that generate CO2 snow on demand and can deliver more consistent temperatures across food than any manual ice chilling method. That consistency can translate into more repeatable operations, higher product quality, and lower operating costs.
- SOLVOX® oxygenation systems for aquaculture that can help maintain fish health and maximize fish farming productivity with maximum yield per growth cycle. Linde customizes the technology for customers around the world and advances the technology through its Innovation Center for Aquaculture in Norway.
