Linde debuts low-carbon gases product line ahead of SENA Reconnect
Industrial gases and engineering company Linde announced on 10 March the launch of a new product line of atmospheric gases produced with 100-percent renewable energy.
The company – which is hosting a digital Industry Pod at next week’s Seafood Expo North America Reconnect event, taking place from 15 to 19 March – said the Linde Green portfolio features low-carbon liquified oxygen, nitrogen, and argon.
The new products swap out conventional power methods typically utilized during the energy-intensive air separation process with certified carbon-free sources, such as wind, hydro-electric, and solar. The portfolio will be available in select locations in Europe and the U.S.
“Linde is proud to offer an atmospheric product line of industrial gases produced with zero-carbon electricity that will help our customers improve the environmental footprint of their supply chains,” Linde Vice President of Sales and Business Management Andrew Sarantapoulas said in a press release. “Furthermore, finding new opportunities to integrate renewable energy into our production processes accelerates Linde’s efforts to lower its greenhouse gas emissions significantly by 2028.”
Linde said over one-third of all the electrical energy that it procures, on a global basis, is sourced from low-carbon and renewable power.
In 2020, the company’s sales reached USD 27 billion (EUR 24 billion), Linde said. End-markets including seafood, electronics, healthcare, and manufacturing, among others, are served by the firm. Linde cryogenic gases and equipment systems, such as its CRYOLINE branded and ACCU-CHILL branded products, are often adopted by the seafood industry as cost-efficient methods of using liquid nitrogen and/or liquid carbon dioxide "to rapidly freeze or chill food products to desired target temperatures.”
Registrants to Seafood Expo North America Reconnect can connect with Linde online via the Industry Hub, which includes participating organizations and companies from around the world.
