John Blewett joins Three Oceans, NOAA appoints Jennifer Quan as West Coast regional administrator

- NOAA has appointed Jennifer Quan as the U.S. West Coast regional administrator, National Fisherman reports. “I feel fortunate and excited to have Jennifer join the NOAA Fisheries leadership team at this time,” NOAA Assistant Administrator Janet Coit said. “She is a capable, experienced leader who has demonstrated throughout her career that she understands fisheries and complex environmental issues and knows how to work with others to address the many natural resource challenges on the West Coast.”
- Rockland, Maine U.S.A.-based NGO The Island Institute has announced Kim Hamilton is its new president. The group aims to work towards community development sustainability for coastal, island, and local communities. “I come to Island Institute as someone who believes that more people than we know have a stake in our collective success and want to help. They just need to be asked,” Hamilton said in a release.
- Water-Proved announced in a press release its has hired David Markl-Binger as a managing partner. Markl-Binger brings more than 15 years in aquaculture industry experience to the Furth, Germany-based aquaculture systems design firm.
- James Deverill has just been appointed as the managing director for Portree, Scotland-based salmon farm Organic Sea Harvest, after spending seven years at Cargill Aqua Nutrition. According to his LinkedIn, Deverill began with Organic Sea Harvest in April 2023.
- John Blewett has left Iceland Seafood UK and joined frozen fish seafood company Three Oceans as the company’s chief business officer. According to his LinkedIn, Blewett joined the Caistor, U.K.-based company in March 2023.
