Johan Andreassen shifts into managing director role at Atlantic Sapphire; Nina Mogster named Lingalaks CEO

- Johan Andreassen resigned from land-based farming company Atlantic Sapphire’s board of directors in May 2023. On 26 June, the board appointed him as the company's managing director, the company announced. The move required approval from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Fisheries since Andreasson resides abroad in Miami, Florida, U.S.A., where the company's land-based salmon-farming facility is located.
- Henrik Fang Luo announced he will return to China after leaving Norwegian land-based salmon-farming firm Salmon Evolution, where he worked as the company's grow-out manager for 20 months, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“With immense gratitude, I wrapped up my tenure at Salmon Evolution. I am so proud to have been part of amazing Salmon Evolution journey of extending the ocean potential in the form of land-based aquaculture. Big thanks to my colleagues – you are the most fascinating team, and I will always be cheering for you,” Luo wrote on LinkedIn.
Luo has accepted a position as the deputy general manager at Long Yang Xia Ecological Aquaculture, the largest salmon-trout producer in China.
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues, and I am excited about my physical proximity to fantastic nature and culture both on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and by West Lake,” Luo wrote.
- On 22 June, Darden Restaurants announced the retirement of its board chairman, Eugene I. Lee Jr.
"Serving as Darden's CEO and as a member and chairman of the board of directors has been an honor," Lee said in a release. "I am proud of what we have accomplished and believe that Darden is well-positioned to continue to grow and prosper for years to come."
The board will be comprised of nine members upon Lee’s retirement.
"Gene is an extraordinary leader and has been a source of support and counsel during this past year. His impact on Darden and the restaurant industry cannot be overstated and lives on in the thousands of restaurant leaders he has mentored during his long and successful career, Darden Chief Executive Officer Rick Cardenas said.
-Don Federico Contessi, the founder of Argentina's Federico Contessi Naval Shipyard, has passed away, according to Pescare. Contessi was a major figure in the development of Argentina's between the 1960s and through the new milennium.
- Bellevue, Washington, U.S.A.-based Peter Pan Seafood Company announced on 19 June that Shannon Gray has been promoted to vice president of human resources. Gray joined Peter Pan in March 2021.
“I’m excited about where Peter Pan is going and I’m looking forward to working closely with the rest of the leadership team to continue being strategic and building on the company’s structure and the amazing team we have,” Gray said.
