Imenco Aqua releases new product line of fish welfare cameras and biomass frames
Imenco Aqua, a supplier of services and products for the aquaculture industry, has launched “Imenco Welfare,” a new product range with solutions for fish welfare.
The new product range, the company said, includes fish health cameras, biomass frames, and a “well-known” software for lice counting, biomass measurement, and welfare from software company Createview.
As part of the new product line, Imenco Aqua Vice President Anders Bastholm said, the company is launching its first multi-camera that provides a fish welfare camera and a feeding camera in one product.
“In this way, the farmers get all the information they want about their biomass and control over feeding, with one unit and one installation, not two as before,” Bastholm said.
The camera, he said, was built as a modular camera so that it can be used as both a stand-alone and a multi-camera solution.
“If you have a feeding camera from Imenco from before, you can now have it converted into a multi-camera also with a fish health camera,” Bastholm said. “If you start with a fish welfare camera and later also want a feeding camera, that will of course be arranged as well.”
The company also launched a new biomass measuring frame, building on the first generation of its products that the company launched in 1995. The new frame, the company said, will allow for even more accurate measurements and more registrations.
“Customers have already placed orders before the product was finished, so we have worked hard to get the products ready and have carried out extensive tests,” Imenco Aqua General Manager Tommy Storsveen said in a release.
The new biomass frame will also use CView Analytics, which Storsveen said offers a cloud-based solution for analysis that can also tap into Imenco’s welfare cameras.
Bastholm added that the company has adapted its devices to be usable in land-based farming as well as sea-based farming.
