Biscay, Spain-based Pesqueria Vasco Montañesa (Pevasa) has sold its one-third stake in tuna specialist Atunlo.

Internacional de Pesca y Derivados (Inpesca) and Comercial Pernas (Coper) will now hold a joint 50-50 stake in Atunlo, according to a press release from the company, which will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Vigo.

Atunlo operates six seafood-processing facilities and recently expanded its plant in Galicia, Spain, upgrading to an automated line that tripled its production of value-added tuna products.

In September 2022, Atunlo Key Account Manager Dominique Forey told SeafoodSource his company was planning to expand its presence in Singapore as a first step to establishing a larger presence in Asia.
