The 15th annual SeaWeb Seafood Summit, set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 10 to 14 June, 2019, is primed to be the most experiential yet, according to event organizer Diversified Communications.

The summit, which is produced by Diversified in partnership with SeaWeb, is slated to offer more offsite field trips, interactive breakout session formats, and question-and-answer opportunities than it has ever before – both during and after its extensive conference program, the organizers said in a recent press release.

An all-day pre-conference seminar will kick things off on Monday, 10 June, with a keynote address, plenary sessions, and the Seafood Champion Awards revelatory ceremony to follow on Tuesday, 11 June. Other highlights for the 2019 summit include lightning-round breakout talks on 12 and 13 June, and an optional, supplementary field session on Friday, 14 June that will offer attendees a “behind-the-scenes look at sustainable seafood operations in action,” Diversified said.

Summit speakers and registered attendees include global representatives from the seafood industry, the conservation community, academia, government, and the media. Session experts scheduled to speak at this year’s conference hail from FishWise, Bali Seafood International, Thai Union, Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Marine Stewardship Council, The Alaska Guys, Thailand’s Department of Fisheries, PT. Alter Trade Indonesia, Fair Trade USA, the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative, and more.

The summit will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Industry members and guests who register at the event’s website before 23:59 EST on 13 March can save USD 650 (EUR 573) on a conference pass, which includes the 10 June seminar, the organizers said. The field trip on 14 June, however, will require an upgrade.
