Icelandic fishing firm Vinnslustaðirinn (VSV) has confirmed intention to buy Ós and Leo Seafood.

Ós owns and operates fishing vessel Þórunna Sveinsdóttir VE-401, while Leo Seafood operates a fish-processing plant and exports products to Europe and North America. The current owner of the two companies is Sigurjón Óskarsson and his family.

The board of Vinnslustaðirinn and shareholders in Ós and Leo Seafood have signed a letter of intent regarding the purchase of the processing center's entire share capital in the two companies," VSV stated in a release. "The letter of intent contains reservations about certain issues, but if the purchase goes ahead, it is expected that the relevant contracts will be signed next year.”

Fisk Seafood purchased a minority stake in VSV in 2018. The stake had previously been owned by Brim.
