Rob Koremans to replace Knut Nesse as Nutreco CEO
Knut Nesse, the CEO of Amersfoort, The Netherlands-based fish feed producer Nutreco, is stepping down in October 2018, the company announced on 4 June.
Rob Koremans, the president and CEO of Global Specialty Medicines, will join Nutreco on 1 August and take over for Nesse on 1 October.
Nesse, who worked at Nutreco for 23 years and headed the firm for the past six years, decided to leave the company in order to return to his native Norway with his family, “having lived abroad for many years.”
“Under the leadership of Knut, the company now has a solid foundation for growth and a clear strategic direction for the coming years,” Nutreco said.
Global Specialty Medicines was founded in 2013 as a subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a maker of generic and proprietary drugs. In addition to his leadership at Global Specialty Medicines, Koremans is also a member of Teva Pharmaceuticals’ executive committee.
From 2012 to 2013, Koremans served as president and CEO of Teva Pharmaceuticals Europe. From 2009 to 2012, Koremans was a member of the executive team at biopharmaceutical company Sanofi. Prior to that role, he served as senior vice president generics, strategy, and development at Sanofi. He also worked as CEO of Zentiva and Cryo-Save, and worked in senior positions at Grunenthal GmbH and Serono.
Koremans holds a medical degree from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and an MBA from Babson College in the United States.
