Morubel acquired by investment firm

Belgium-based frozen shrimp and specialty seafood supplier Morubel nv was acquired by Bencis Capital Partners, the company announced on Tuesday. 

The acquisition, which closed on Monday, will enable Morubel to continue to operate independently, as it has since January when the company was divested by the Holland-based Heiploeg Group; Morubel had been a part of Heiploeg since 1999. No changes in management or personnel were made. 

Bencis Capital Partners, with offices in Amsterdam and Brussels, is an independent investment company that in involved with 18 companies employing 9,000 people, many in the food and beverage industries.
