Janne T. Morstøl resigning as Maritech’s CEO
Janne T. Morstøl has decided to resign as CEO of Norwegian traceability and business software company Maritech, the firm announced this month.
Morstøl, who had been serving as CEO since February 2017, agreed with Maritech’s board of directors on the decision to leave the business. Odd-Arne Kristengård, who has worked for nine years at Maritech, with the last six years spent as COO, has been appointed as the new CEO by the company’s board.
When she first moved into the role of CEO in 2017, Morstøl helped to lead Maritech’s then-newly adopted strategy focusing on growth through expansion in the value chain and internationalization. Her leadership has helped strongly position the company as a supplier of innovative software systems tailored for the seafood and logistics industry, Maritech said in a press release.
As CEO, Morstøl also established a “strong leadership team and strengthened the organization within new technology and digital business processes,” Maritech said.
The company commended the considerable work and international travel Morstøl put into her time at Maritech, which included a routine commute to the company’s Molde, Norway-based office for three years, as well as visits to its locations in the United States, Canada, Iceland, and Chile.
“The board wishes to thank Janne for the efforts and results she has been creating in Maritech over the past three years and wishes her good luck with new challenges,” Maritech stated in the press release.
