A restaurateur on Florida’s Gulf Coast has started a new endeavor designed to bring the region’s seafood delicacies to individuals and businesses across the country.

Charles Morgan launched Gulf to Table to deliver fresh, flash-frozen fish to markets, restaurants, and private homes. The fish are processed at Morgan’s Harbor Docks restaurant and market in Destin, and shipped overnight. Morgan counts markets in New York and Canada among his customers, along with a slew of independent restaurants.

As seasons change, so too do menu options. Currently, Gulf to Table offers fillets of red snapper, red grouper, yellowfin ahi tuna, cobia, king mackerel, and other fish. Other products, such as stone crab claws, crab meat, and shrimp, are also available as whole fish in certain species.

Gulf to Table also sells throats and cheeks, which are considered favored cuts of locals in the Florida panhandle.

Morgan gets his product daily from a network of more than 100 fishing vessels that work the Gulf of Mexico.

The company’s website, GulftoTable.com, also provides detailed information about each of its selections, including the best ways to prepare them for meals.

Morgan is a member of the Gulf Coast Seafood Alliance. The organization unites fishermen, restaurants, and dealers to push for fair distribution of the region’s fish. Pushing for a sustainable market and educating the public are key drivers for Morgan, who has been in the industry for more than 40 years.

“Wild-caught seafood is the last truly wild protein available to the public,” Morgan said.  “It’s our goal to help customers understand just what goes into getting honestly labeled and sustainably harvested fish from the waters of the Gulf to their dinner tables. And through our user-friendly website, fresh seafood is just a click away.”
