Seafood prices in China have avoided price rises seen in other foods, partially due to sluggish consumer demand.

Average seafood prices in China fell by 2.9 percent year on year in July, even as overall food prices rose by 6.1 percent according to China’s consumer price index data for the month. The overall consumer price index (CPI) for the month rose by 2.7 percent in July compared to the same month last year.
