GAA expands BAP senior leadership team with three promotions
Three members of the Best Aquaculture Practices market development team have received promotions, the Global Aquaculture Alliance, which operates the BAP program, announced in November.
Molly Jacques, who previously served as the BAP supply chain transparency manager, is now the BAP director of market development operations. Jacques has held multiple positions on the BAP market development team since joining GAA in 2011 as the business development manager for North America.
The new BAP vice president of market development for the Americas is Chris Keller, who formerly served as the organization’s director of market development for North America. He joined GAA in 2015 after 20 years of professional retail experience, most notably with Walmart, as BAP market development manager of retail in North America.
Also, Steve Hart was promoted to vice president of market development for Asia, Oceania, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. Hart served as the vice president of market development for Asia previously, and as well as the vice president of education and outreach when he joined in 2015. He came to GAA from the Soy Aquaculture Alliance, where he had served as executive director since 2011.
“Jacques, Keller, and Hart effectively fill the role left by Chris Trosin, BAP senior vice president of business development, who departed the organization in September to pursue a new endeavor as owner of Metro Lobster & Seafood, a Rhode Island-based wholesaler and retailer,” GAA said.
All three will report to GAA CEO Wally Stevens, who praised their work.
“We are delighted to be able to promote from within our organization these three incredibly talented individuals,” Stevens said. “Their experiences both within GAA and prior to joining us combined with their passion for our mission makes us proud to have them join our senior leadership team. Onward and upward!”
